Essentially, T-Pain’s idea was born out of necessity; the necessity to be more awesome than all the other artists out there with iPhone applications. After teaming up with Smule, they collaborated and realized T-Pain’s perfect iPhone application would be auto-tune for the iPhone.

“It’s actually the same software that I use in the studio, so if anybody actually wanted to be T-Pain, then there you go,” T-Pain said.

I wonder if this application will lead to the birth of many up & coming T-Pains. I for one realize that I never fully understood my musical potential until I downloaded T-Pain’s application. Recently I found myself in a battle with my Ex over various social websites like Facebook and Twitter.  After we broke up we decided to still be friends and keep in contact, but things went terribly wrong.  I was out with friends when I ran into him drunk and he was all over some girl that we both know.  I was disgusted and pissed that he was doing that right in front of me!  When I got home I went on Facebook and changed my status to:  OF ALL THE THINGS I HAVE EVER BEEN A DRUNK RAPEY A$$HOLE IS NOT ONE OF THEM.  This begin a week long war between us on Facebook and Twitter, ending with me deleting him as a friend.  Should I never bring him up on there anymore?  I am just so mad that I want to continue to comment about what an idiot he is.  It is my right to use social networks as I please, right?

You made one of the cardinal mistakes of social networking: b*tchin’ about an ex out of frustration to get attention from them.  Let’s face it, you went out of your way to go home and let him know online what a piece of crap you thought he was. If homeboy had the tiniest bit of intelligence he’d have deleted you the second he saw your status update and ignored you FOREVER.  Obviously, the two of you have unfinished business, but get a grip and some self worth.  Bickering over Facebook or Twitter does not make you a lady, it makes you a child, like Miley Cyrus, who’s been in some heated exchanges with her own ex Justin via Twitter.  Take it from me, if you really want to hurt a man ignore him forever and move on with your life.  Nothing burns like knowing you cannot phase someone anymore.

After a crazy week of celebrity deaths (Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, Ed McMahon), one hacker decided it would be funny to hack Britney Spears’ Twitter account and pronounce her dead as well. 

The update read:

“Britney has passed today.  It is a sad day for everyone.  More news to come.”

Attached was a photo of a cross.

More news: this tweet is FALSE.

Thankfully, the tweet was removed from the social networking site soon after it was posted.  Apparantly Ellen DeGeneres’ and Diddy’s accounts were also hacked with fake death accouncements. 

Twitter needs to get their security under control!  Death is not funny no matter how you look at it. 

Now, don’t get me wrong, making it isn’t simple, but the time and work required to finish it will make it that much more rewarding to use.  Plus, what could be more awesome than leaving your outgoing messages using the auto tune you just made?  When you’re done, send us samples of what you’ve been able to come up with!

Kanye West might not care about Twitter, but tons of other people do!  As we’ve said before, Twitter is the quickest, fastest way to update people about the things you’re doing, as well as quickly spread information about anything from interesting links online to the details of an after party (which is always helpful).  Hey it’s micro-blogging, it’s supposed to get information out as quickly as possible in as little as 140 characters.

If you have a Twitter account but are tired of using SMS to update (pesky text messages in laymans terms), look no further because any one of these useful applications can amp up your smart phone so you’ll be Twittering n the same ranks as Ashton Kutcher, Britney Spears, John Mayer and us at AMP.  In case you haven’t joined Twitter do it and start tweeting!

• Twitterific is the premiere application for iPhone users. The interface is set up just like an iPhone app so it makes it easy to use. It was built not long after Twitter launched so it has a totally similar interface to what you’re already used to using that allows you to simply check out each tweet, as well as take photos from your phone that can be uploaded via Twitpic with relative ease. Did I mention that it’s free?
• Cetwit is the most bang for your buck if you’re using a Windows based phone. It has all the optimal features, such as time line display, twit pic support and the ability to start following and unfollowing people, which keeps the familiarity of the online client while you’re on your phone.
• TwitterBerry When I had a blackberry this is all I used. It was quick, easy and efficient and just like using Twitter on my computer. It allowed me the ability to simply check my friend’s tweets, respond quickly or make my own post. What more could you want in an application?
• Twapper is designed for mobile browsers. It cuts out the SMS middle man and all the potential crazy texting you may not want by giving you the ability to check your twitter feed from the web browser in your phone, which is awesome if you don’t want another erroneous application taking up space on your phone. It’s just that simple.
• Twitterdroid Is the best app for your Android phone. Essentially, it’s a version of Twitterific that you can download onto your phone via the link. However, it doesn’t do much more than allow you to check out your latest 20 tweets and make updates. But really, what more do you need?

Of course, now you have to run to your phone and get this started.  Especially because next time we offer tickets via Twitter you’ll notice while you’re waiting in line to get coffee and be the next winner!

Now popular songs will cost $1.29 a piece, while less popular songs will now sell for $0.69.  You might think that this is a green light to buy up all the songs which are no longer considered popular, but be careful.  Songs that are still downloaded often, but not in the realm of popular music will also cost $1.29.  New artists, rather than established musicians, will most likely be the ones to have songs selling for $0.69.  So prepare yourself to start scouting never before heard bands if you want to save some money!

After the recent backlash over the changes at Facebook people have been looking for the next big thing in social networking. That thing is Twitter.  It’s perfect for those laden with ADD tendencies as it provides to instantaneously update your status with the limitation of 140 characters.

However, after the general outcry  for change from the public, Facebook actually decided to admit their most recent changes were wrong.  Hooray guys!  Finally, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted defeat over the terrible redesign of Facebook. Product director Chris Cox was forced to write an apology to the Facebook community at large cause, let’s face it, Zuckerberg was too awesome to do it himself.

Of the problems admitted in Cox’s apology there is:

• Add more control and relevance in the stream
  One of the great parts of Facebook is the ability to share and consume different types of content, such as photos, videos and notes, all in one place. We’ve heard from you that you want even more variety and control in your stream, and for it to update automatically.
• Live updating: One of the most common requests is the ability to see your stream update automatically. We will be adding the ability to turn on auto updating in the near future so you no longer need to refresh the page.
• Photo tags: In order to surface more photos you might like to see, we’ll be adding photos tagged of your friends to the stream. This will happen in the coming weeks.
• More choices for applications: We’ve heard feedback that there is a lot of application content appearing in the stream. We will be giving you tools to control and reduce application content that your friends share into your stream.
• Currently, the content filters on the left screen allow you to select the types of content you would like to see. Over time, we’ll continue to give you more control over what’s in your main stream and how you consume it. We have the eventual goal of building filters that summarize this activity so you can see a more condensed view of what’s been going on. We’re also thinking about ways of filtering out some of the Wall posts and content directed to specific people to focus more on posts shared with everyone.
• Right now, we’re making improvements to the Highlights section on the right-hand side of your home page. Highlights will update more frequently and will show you more content throughout the day to mirror more closely the content that the earlier News Feed provided.
• Find things more easily: It’s important that you are able to find everything you’re interested in, or we’re not succeeding in giving you the right level of control. We’re currently working on a few design changes to help you find these things more easily, such as:
• Moving requests to the top of the right column: Friend requests and event invites will be more prominent.
• Easier way to create a Friends List filter: From the filters on the left, you will be able to create a new list of friends with which to filter the stream.
• Application bookmarks continue to live in the toolbar at the bottom left of the page. You can quickly access your groups, events and other favorite applications from the bottom bar on any page.

Twitter is much less the mess and much more instantaneous.  In the case that you’re not that familiar with Twitter start up your own account and add Amp Radio!  Technologically, Twitter might be considered the new Facebook, but it isn’t.  It’s a completely different social networking system with a totally different feel.  The difference between Facebook and Twitter makes them both significant and in order to keep on top of the latest trends in technology Amp Radio is also on Facebook.  At this point who isn’t on Facebook?  Feel free to add us on both, to stay in the know, about everything going on at Amp Radio.
